the gift, a purpose many times, we become unhappy with where we are in our lives and often wish things could be different. all too often, our self-worth is gauged by what we have and how much. even we Christians possess these feelings of inadequacies and lack of purpose. but, God always comes through, bringing good news around every turn. i would like to help shed some positive light on some areas of Christians' lives that have been darkened for so long. it is my desire that God will reveal to you His Divine purpose for your life. if you're thinking you have nothing to give or nothing to contribute to bring Glory to God, guess again. each and every one of you has been given something very special-a spiritual gift. through these spiritual gifts, God's purpose is fulfilled by your use of them. in 1 corinthians 12:4-6, apostle paul speaks about the spiritual gifts we are given. there are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. there are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. there are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. 1 corinthians 12:4-6 praise God! you can begin to squash those feelings of inadequacies knowing that He has equipped you to bring Glory to His name through what He has given you. although everyone's gift is different to the human eye, they are the same in God's eyes. therefore, we must not become greedy or envious of others' gifts because we all bring Glory to God through their use. not one gift is more important than the other, for they all work together. scripture says: if the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? if the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? but in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be. if they were all one part, where would the body be? as it is, there are many parts, but one body. 1 corinthians 12:17-20 so, instead of feeling short-changed or at a loss, know that God has strategically placed you exactly where He wants you. you play a vital role in His body of believers. we must also remember to get down on our knees and thank God for the wonderful gifts He has given us, and be gracious for where He's placed us. furthermore, to show our gratitude, we must take a firm hold of our gifts and use them for His Glory. do you see the gift within you? it just might be looking you in the face. if you're feeling something in your heart that you should be doing, God may be giving you a little nudge. if you're still feeling lost and frustrated, take it to God in prayer. in His time, He will reveal your gift and His wonderful purpose for your life. God's thankful and gifted servant, tamara |
