God's Free Gift "it does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy." romans 9:16 how does this verse make you feel? Christian or not, it may raise some questions or at least some interesting thoughts. here we are, living in our independent worlds, going about life, doing what we feel we must. but, after reading the words of the apostle Paul, we are stopped dead in our tracks. ephesians 2:9 reads "not by works, so that no one can boast." are we working for the Lord, or for our own selfish ambitions? if we are working for the Lord, then what motivates us? is doing something good for God just a pat on the back? Salvation is ours by grace through faith alone. Salvation does not come to us merely by what we do. It is a precious Gift that comes through the receiving of Christ as Lord and Savior of our life; nothing more, nothing less. good works alone can not save us, however, doing good works is our divinely inspired response from the joy of our Salvation in Jesus Christ. without works, our faith is dead (James 2:17). no one would see our joy, no one would receive the blessings and that would be a shame! let us not allow anyone to miss out on the joy and blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ! accept the Gift of Salvation and/or share it with someone today! God's Peace be with you, Tamara |
