The Artist's Touch

what is God's master plan for your life? have you discovered it yet? are you still searching? well, i'm here to tell you that you don't need to worry. please read these words of comfort taken from jeremiah 29:11:

"for I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

lets recap. who knows the plans for you? the Lord knows! how cool! there is no guessing and no grasping. you don't need to know until He wants you to know. He will reveal it in time; in His time. some people force themselves into a will or a plan that isn't God's! that is sad, and sometimes, it's frightening. we need to be careful not to carry that crowbar with us while approaching the windows and doors of opportunities.

as we journey through life, we constantly grow and change. our Potter is faithfully shaping and molding us. He is continually peeling the layers of guilt, shame, hurt, dismay, selfishness and pride. every one of those qualities (plus many more), are stripped away, piece by piece, until the Artist reveals His masterpiece. that work of art is the person who He wants us to be. take a moment to read this next verse:

"for we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." ephesians 2:10

see? He knows what He's doing! if we struggle too much and don't let the Artist do His work, we squelch His creativity. we prevent Him from unearthing those valuable resources He wants to bless us with. sometimes we become so blind to His blessings, we fail to see His very hand reaching out to help us.

starting today, allow the Artist to provide you with a new canvas. immerse yourself in His word and keep those lines of communication open. allow Him to use whatever medium He chooses. give God His artistic freedom!
