more of You

the farther i am from You, God, the more alone i feel. however, that is not Your doing-it's all mine. and that distance i put between You and i, Lord, makes it all the more harder to come back to You. because You are constant and never changing, i am the only one to blame for this chasm between us. when the shame settles over me, i am much too paralyzed to do anything about it; i have become a prisoner of my guilt.

dearest Lord, break down that wall of guilt. remove those barriers for me, for i am weak. i desire to come back to You and to be in Your presence. i want to seek and find You in Your temple. i not only want to be closer to You, Father, i want to climb up onto Your lap again and gaze upon Your beauty.

one thing i ask of the Lord, this is what i seek: that i may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.
psalm 27:4

thank You, Lord, for the breath and life You have given me. but, what good is that breath if i am not praising You. and what good is my life if i am not living for You? place me in Your will. put me back on the path You have chosen for me; the one that leads to righteousness.

the path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
proverbs 4:18

forgive me, Lord, for i give up and give in all too often. because my flesh is weak and my heart is tired, protect me. hide me deep within You, far from temptation. remove my fear of failure and replace it with the joy of Salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. remind me again and again how You saved me. help me to recall those earliest feelings when i first experienced You in my life.

for in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.
psalm 27:5

Lord, saturate me with Your Word. it is a precious gift of encouragement and instruction. let your Word rest on me and may It take Its proper and deserved place in my life. feed me and show me what You would have me learn. i may desire wisdom and discernment, Lord, but first, please show me 'love'. show me how to love. show me how to be loved.

Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
psalm 119:105

this is my humble prayer, Lord. simply put: i need more of You. not just now or for the months ahead. i need more of You every day of my life. thank You for listening to me and loving me.
