...other meditations

pray continually

if there is one thing i’ve learned this past month, it is this: "Prayer is important"!

i have gone through so many changes and disappointments these past weeks. for just a short moment, i felt abandoned by God. but, He was always there. He was there waiting for me to come to Him. how? through Prayer. to be honest with you, my prayer life had been suffering. i was truly missing out on the Blessings of Prayer. why? because, I was handling things myself. (ha! a lot of good that did!)

i took my eyes off of my Saviour, my Helper and Friend. i was reminded, very quickly, that God was, is and always will be in control of every situation that i may encounter. through Prayer, i gave to God every issue i was facing. and what He gave me in return is priceless. a renewed heart and willingness to let go of those things that once had control over me. Praying is simply communicating with God. when we humbly come to Him, we are allowing ourselves to be open to His leading. we are letting Him know that we don’t want to do it alone. when we Pray, even though things are not so good around us, He opens our eyes to the many Blessings He gives to us. the world is not such a scary place after all.

now, if you are like me and you are not very good at memorizing scripture, here’s one that is easy to remember! it is a scripture that is so simple to memorize and yet it means so much.

"…pray continually…" 1 thessalonians 5:17

of course, memorization is not exactly what we are called to do. we are called into action. we are called to put into practice what we read from God’s Word. in james 1:22, we are told "Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." so, as i bring this meditation to a close, i will leave you with one word:

PRAY!

In Him Who Loveth All,

Tamara
