thinking of you

recently at a worship service, we were reminded of how much God cares for us. He cares for us in so many ways, but did you ever imagine Him thinking about you ? sometimes i don't even consider that God thinks about me. at the closing of the service, we were given a memento to help us remember the essence of what we learned. i knew i had to share what i was reminded of that day.

take a moment and ponder how many people you thought about today. how many can you recall? were there five or fifteen? maybe fifty? how about one hundred? having thoughts for one hundred people is pretty amazing. although it's a high number, no one can top the thoughts of God.

the many thoughts of God are incredible and inconceivable. we cannot possibly comprehend the deep concern He has for us. He doesn't just sit around and think about our sin and the bad stuff going on in the world. no, He genuinely thinks loving thoughts of each and every one of us all of the time.

how precious to me are Your thoughts, o God! how vast is the sum of them! were i to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand . psalm 139:17,18

God's thoughts outnumber the grains of sand on all of the beaches everywhere. how infinite! if you are finding this hard to imagine, try this hands-on process the next time you are at the beach. simply grab a handful of sand and gaze at the individual tiny grains. do you think there would be hundreds? how about thousands? possibly millions? could you possibly count them all? i don't think i would even believe the result, for it would be too large of a number. yet that is how often God thinks of little ol' me.

He cares about every aspect of my life. He knows and cares about my good, my bad and my not-too-pretty, and yet He still loves me. yes, He truly loves me and adores me. but it doesn't end there with me. consider the person reading this meditation. just think…He's thinking about you right now.
