a thanksgiving workshop

enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. psalm 100:4

we all have things to be thankful for. please join with me in the “thanksgiving workshop” as we remember who God is and what He has done for us. from big to little, God has done some amazing things in our lives. this month’s meditation will give us an opportunity to spend some time in thought and prayer of what God has done in our personal lives, as well as taking the time to give Him the thanks He deserves.

some simple instructions:
first, open with a prayer and invite God into your time of reflection. this will make your time more meaningful and unique. second, begin each section by reading the scripture provided. you can have your bible handy in the event you’d like to read further into the psalms. each scripture is then followed by a thought provoking sentence or two. prayerfully, they will lead your thoughts to specific times in your life where you saw God at work. third, recall those moments and give God thanks. maybe you’d like to journal in a notebook. you can spend as much time as you wish. but remember… don’t rush through it. truly give it some thought and be genuine with God and what you are thankful for.

may this meditation be an eye and heart opening experience for all of us.

remember those moments when your heart leapt for joy because you witnessed God working in your life…
give Him thanks!

You turned my wailing into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to You and not be silent. o Lord my God, i will give You thanks forever. psalm 30:11,12

remember those very difficult times in your life, when you felt so broken and so alone. yet that one touch from God lifted you from the ashes and turned your sorrows into joy…
do not be silent! give Him thanks!

i will give You thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people i will praise You. psalm 35:18

remember those moments when God held out His hand to you when you needed Him…
do not be ashamed, praise His Name aloud!

we give thanks to You, o God, we give thanks, for Your Name is near;
men tell of Your wonderful deeds. psalm 75:1

remember those moments of corporate worship when you gave God your everything…
give Him praise and thanks!

give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done. psalm 105:1

remember those miraculous moments of healing and transformation…
praise Him and tell everyone what He has done!

praise the Lord. give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. psalm 106:1

remember God’s love, goodness and mercy…
love Him back!

let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. psalm 107:8,9

remember all the needs He has met and the wonderful things He has done for you—great and small…
give thanks to Him!

i will give You thanks, for You answered me; You have become my Salvation. psalm 118:21

remember the new life He gave you through His Son, Jesus Christ…
give Him all praise, honor and glory!
