a few random questions for glenn . . .
originally back in about 1991 they needed a guitar player and we all worked at k-mart, so that's that, I got the gig. then that fell apart. we crossed paths again because of a Christmas card, in 1997 and the three of us had the same motives for playing together again, which would be to spread and share the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. |

i understand you've
been involved at the Boardwalk Chapel in wildwood even before your oneWord
days. can you give us a little history...? |

| on inside the Boardwalk Chapel. though I can't tell you any specifics about what I saw there, I can tell you it did convict me on those evenings of my life, of a life style that was not right. the Boardwalk Chapel was planting and watering a little seed within me. after I rededicated my life, and started living for Christ and the Word of God, I went with my church group down to wildwood's Boardwalk Chapel to help out. little did I know until I walked into the Chapel | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

that I had been there before. that place ministered to me years ago and was water for my soul. hence, YES it means a lot for me to go there, helping john and his ministry out; he helped me and didn't even know me at the time. many people are surprised to find out that your blonde guitar is a Gibson®. where did you find it? in the year nineteen hundred and ninety one, in a galaxy far far away? I was looking for a new guitar, so I went to the Local music store (hmm can't seem to remember the name of the store - maybe they could jog my memory). they were having a big sale and I always had a problem with normal Strat shapes being too |

| big and LP's being uncomfortable. anyway, I saw this guitar called an M3, played it and it fit perfectly. (their tech support has been really good to me too.) well I've had 2 of them since about 1990 — 'goldilocks', the natural wood toned deluxe model, and 'blacky', the black one duh. I think I bought the only 2 that ever came into that store. though now with all the world wide web has made available I now have added 2 ivory, 1 les paul studio lite, and 1 les paul classic all M3's; I have now assumed the position of an M3 collector. back to the point, they were only made for | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

about 6 years so people really don't know they ever existed (the LP classic M3 they only made that 2 years) and people are especially amazed to find them being such a large brand name guitar and all. how do you find your playing style changing over the years? and here I thought that I was a sound engineer not a guitar player? continual learning and versatility is a big thing, learning different styles is an ongoing process; I don't think that will ever end. you need versatility to feel what a song or mood needs; don't get stuck in a rut by playing the same licks over and over, be artistic. I'm still trying to get past the planning every little thing out rut. I would like to set aside more quite time for study, practice and exploration of new tricks and styles. for magic to happen you have to be flexible. |

| what do you find most challenging about balancing music, work, and ministry in your busy schedule? getting over stress related illnesses (note: that's plural). really, and in addition it's hard for me to keep shifting gears all of the time. just let Jesus in the drivers seat and learn to live a life of worship to Him in 'everything you do' and it will work out. I am still working on this, I want to drive all of the time, but that can't be. | tell us a little bit about the Body Of Believers service at your church. when did you feel God was leading you to start that ministry? that was stirring up for a year or so in my mind, and then two friends confronted me with the same idea. therefore we prayed, sought counsel and started it. being held accountable by the church, elders, and such is very much needed within ministries and is a growing experience. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

who or what originally influenced you to play the guitar? eddie van halen… and then some friends from school namely dino, mike r, my bro steve and vincent on drums in his parent's garage makin some noise in the 80's. actually I recently found a drawing from back in these days of a city skyline and the name 'after hours' with our names following. pretty cheesy I think, and I don't remember ever calling ourselves anything, we just had fun attempting to play and write songs. my family, mom, granny (God rest her soul), and sister jane who plays guitar and recorded me singing and playing at the age of 4 (very cute). they were all a huge support and still are. |

| one of the band's best-known songs, "come to Me as you are", seems very close to your heart. is there anything you'd care to say about that? yes, don't wait until you're perfect or all cleaned up to go to God, you're just procrastinating and it won't happen. if within your hardend heart you have come to a point of repentance (turning away from your sins and wicked behaviour) and accept the fact that Jesus is the son of God, read John 3:16, "for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." God wants you now the way you are, you are not perfect and He knows that - "your sin is not too great - it's not too late" today, for you don't know what tomorrow will bring. if you died today, are you assured that you will go to Heaven? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
which do you enjoy playing more: acoustic or electric? it's all relative to moods; we are all such emotionally driven, I tell ya. singing and strumming a steel string acoustic is great usually for the majority of people and places, but to play something sweet on a nylon string, or to jump up and make some electric noise, or a fun bluegrass mandolin hay-kicker hoe-down they are all such different emotions, I have no clear majority winner, sorry. maybe, just anything I could sing along with? |

what's your favorite guitar out of those you own? or maybe one you'd like to have? by default my preference would be 'goldilocks'; the M3's are very versatile and I can get a growl, sting or lullaby with them and they are so comfortable to play. but it's all relative to the mood (again). I have a Jem777 guitar and I love to rip, tear and wail solos on that, but then I have a hollow bodied guitar that I like to jazz around with, and then the 7 string to just get wacky with. then you have acoustic, nylon or steel, it goes on and on and on… though a Custom LP class 5 would be sweet… added note: since this was writen I found and purchased the LP classic M3, which I never knew existed and is sweet - though very heavy. |
